Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Recipe
This recipe is easy to make, smells great while cooking, and is absolutely delicious. It is so good that in my household the only problem that seems to develop is the lack of leftovers for the next day’s lunch. This dish requires the use of a large crock pot.
2 ½ -3 pounds of chicken tenders, it can be browned on the grill or in a pan, if desired.
2/3 cup of honey
1/3 cup brown sugar
½ cup soy sauce
1/3 cup ketchup
4-5 cloves of finely crushed fresh garlic
½ cup diced onions
A pinch of dried basil
Pepper flakes to your taste 1/2 teaspoon is a good start. More if you want it spicier.
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 can of chicken broth, optional
4-6 fresh green onions
¼ cup of sesame seeds
To start, place your chicken on the bottom of the cooker. Next, mix all the ingredients in a bowl and stir until well-blended, pour over the chicken. Cover pot. Cook on low heat for about 4-5 hours. Pull chicken out and shred it. Take the liquid and pour into a pan and simmer the juice down to a syrupy consistency. Stir chicken back into sauce. It is ready to serve.
Slow cooker honey garlic chicken can be served over rice, dry Chinese noodles, and fried won-ton or top ramen noodles if you like. Sprinkle some sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top as a garnish.
